Today we went over the intro to hydroponics and a brief history. We also went over the course outline and the parent form

Sept 5
Today we looked at Hydro in the classroom

sept 6
Today we looked at safety in the hydroponics lab. Students were given their safety contracts to sign and return. They will not be allowed to participate in any future lab work if they do not hand in their safety contracts. Students were also assigned their systems and groups today. We were able to plant our first seeds today!

Sept 9
Today students were asked to complete a poster depicting one our safety rules. Reminder that each student needs to return their safety contracts before we can continue working in the lab.
sept 10
Today the students reviewed the essential knowledge for the hydroponics lab.

sept 11
Today we spent half of the class looking at the hydroponics study questions review and half of the class in the lab working on setting up the systems. We ran tap water through each system so that students can see how each of their systems worked. We also transplanted one seedling into the aeroponics systems

sept 12
Today the students began their system diagram poster project. They must clearly show how their system works, where the water flows and how the plants get their nutrients.
Sept 13
Today the students had another work period on their diagram activities
Sept 16
Today the students worked in the lab. We planted more seeds and began using our new, heated propagation tray.
sept 17
Today the students mapped out the remainder of the plants going into their systems. It is important to plan ahead so that our plants have the best possible chance of doing well!
Sept 18
Today we began looking at the basics of plant biology.
